555 Mug (Short & Tall)

The 555 Mug is hand-thrown on the wheel and fired to cone 6, finished in a beautiful green glaze with breaks of golden yellow and hints of turquoise blue.

Each mug is available in two sizes:

• Short: approximately 10 oz

• Tall: approximately 13 oz

The 555 Mug was created during my journey with lipedema. Lipedema is a connective tissue disease that is widely recognized around the world, yet still not fully recognized or treated in Canada. This mug is, in many ways, a journal entry expressed through clay.

The lumps and bumps in the form represent the lipedema that have slowly developed in my body. The green glaze reflects my green/yellow eyes - a colour that feels deeply personal, as it’s often how people recognize me. However, the colour references more than just my appearance. Through the research and written letters for awareness  into lipedema, I have witnessed hope.  Green also symbolizes new beginnings, and that layered meaning made green the perfect colour.

The number 555, printed on the bottom of each mug, began appearing repeatedly in my daily life. I later learned that, in angel number symbolism, 555 represents significant change - trusting the transition and being guided toward growth and new opportunities. 555 became a lifeline during a time when I felt overwhelmed, uncertain, and was losing mobility. Each time I saw it, I reminded myself: I am going to be okay.

The 555 is printed in pink to represent the many women affected by this disease - approximately 1 in 9 - and to honor the hope that we can all find the care and recognition we need.

Each mug is sold for $55.50, and $5.55 from every purchase will be donated to Lipedema Canada. Mugs will be released in batches of 100, and with each batch sold, a donation of $555 will be made.

I feel incredibly grateful to be able to pursue treatment in Germany, while also raising awareness and advocating for others living with this disease.

There is currently a petition to have lipedema recognized in Canada, and I encourage you to learn more and support this important step forward. Petition link below.
